Is retirement on the horizon? We are here to help!
To all of you that are entering this season in your life, may we just say well done. You have worked hard and you deserve the wondrous retirement that is about to come your way - but how prepared are you? To help you get ready for the most adventurous, fulfilling or relaxing retirement possible, QuidCycle has created a checklist. Tick off all these milestones along the way, strap on your seat-belts and enjoy the ride!
The years running up to retirement will absolutely fly by and it is advisable to ensure that you have all of your goals set in place. When you know what you want to achieve with your retirement, whether it’s a skydive or scenic Tuscan drive, you can then start assessing all of the costs associated with this.
Now you know how you want to spend your retirement, it is time to work out how much you will actually need to spend. A recent study by Fidelity found out that a couple needs £36,000 a year to have a comfortable retirement. Don’t worry guys, this includes that gym membership, dining out every two weeks and all-important holiday! If there are any extras you require, take it into account and break down how much you will need to allocate each month.
The big question - is your money working hard enough for you? With some UK bank accounts offering as little as 0.05% interest, we think we might have a better alternative for you. With QuidCycle, you earn up to 6.1% per year with a one-off investment! If you would prefer to invest smaller amounts monthly and watch it build, our Regular Investor product is for you. However, always remember your capital is at risk with investments.
Hopefully your pension has been building up over a long period of time and you will already have a wholesome sum in there. You may also want to consider how to receive the pension - in one payment or in regular monthly payments. Don’t forget there is also a state pension for all those over 65 but you must manually apply for it! If you have any financial queries you can always visit www.quidcycle.com or a financial advisor.
All boxes ticked! Have a wonderful retirement and don’t forget investments can continue into your golden days, if you want to continue building that nest egg - we all know one skydive isn’t enough.
