That’s right QuidCyclers, the frying pan is out and we’re getting ready to have some fun making and eating delicious pancakes in the office…..the big question is chocolate spread or sugar and lemon on top?
As you may well know the tradition of pancake day, or Shrove Tuesday, comes from getting rid of the fat and butter before Lent, the period of fasting in the Christian calendar which ends at Easter. Here in the QuidCycle office we’ve counted up that despite all the good intentions, between us we’ve tried but failed at: Dry January, ditching sugar, the 5:2 diet and one or two of us need to cancel the gym membership we signed up for six weeks ago! Now instead of letting this get us down, we’re instead going to try and be financially ‘lean’ between tomorrow and the next Bank Holiday (woo hoo!) on Good Friday the 21st March.
With fasting in mind, we’re talking about what we could do without financially. Some of us are vowing not to use our credit cards, unless we’re going to pay it off at the end of the month, others have pledged to save some of our pay packet instead of spending it on a meal or night out. We’re also using the time to plan ahead and see how we can get our finances in check for the rest of 2016 and beyond. If you want to start on the route to financial success click here www.quidcycle.com/invest and we’d love to hear how you get on over the next six weeks.
